On the Preposition- Object Compound in Chinese

The preposition-object compound in Chinese is a common linguistic phenomenon.This paper makes a comparison between this kind of compound and preposition-object phrase in the similar nature of constructing materials and grammatical function.Then it states the motivation of adding orientation compounds in Chinese.The paper states the theoretic and practical importance of adding orientation compounds in Chinese in three levels: the coherence principal of grammatical analysis,the convenience of analysis and naming and that of teaching.The paper also reveals the linguistic features of this kind of compounds in the ways of lexeme type,semantic type and being bound.
