| Abstract: | Written in the Peking dialect of the middle of the nineteenth century,The Heroic Offspring is a famous novel with an important position in the research of Modern Chinese. In the light of modern linguistic theories of distributional analysis and semantic orientation analysis, this article offers a preliminary study of the resultative verb compounds in the novel. |
