Exploring Decision Trees as a Tool to Investigate Money Laundering

From the experiences of international anti-money-laundering activities, the data mining technologies play a basic and important role in data analysis in anti-money-laundering field. This paper tries to probe into the question of exploring decision trees as a tool to investigate money laundering. The paper firstly introduces the basic principle of decision trees, then it gives a living application in sports field. On the basis of analyzing the characters of money laundering, the paper chooses the best attributes in decision trees applying in anti-money-laundering field. After giving an example of machine learning from training set, the paper finally elaborates on how to use decision trees to investigate money laundering.
