《红楼梦》的方言构成及其演变——兼谈《红楼梦》方言研究与校勘中两种值得思考的倾向

《红楼梦》的主体语言和语言韵味、语法结构是以北京话为中心,并吸收了广大北方地区的方言,包括个别的蒙古语词汇与满族词汇。与此同时,作者根据故事情节、人物刻画的需要,还采用了相当数量的江南语言。作者在"批阅十载,增删五次"的过程中已经对《红楼梦》中的方言进行了渐进式地修改。特别是在"去"南话方面,表现尤为突出。近几年来《红楼梦》方言"研究"中表现出一种与社会上刮起的抢名人拉古人的风气搅和在一起的倾向——即把曹雪芹和《红楼梦》同某一地区的"经济"发展或是炫耀历史文化悠久联系在一起。在《红楼梦》走进大众、走向世界的大背景下,在"泛娱乐化"思潮的影响下,在"红楼夺目红"的躁动中,《红楼梦》的校订注释也出现了两种不良倾向:由于某些校订者对抄本《红楼梦》中方言构成、演变不甚熟悉,盲目改动原底本中的方言土语;《红楼梦》抄本中所用的一些词汇早已为戏曲小说所用,已成"熟语",但有些校订者凭着感觉走,只要自己感觉"不顺"或是见其他抄本中有另一种写法,即断定底本为错误。
