沉郁厚重的文化历史书写——试论唐浩明历史小说中的文化意蕴

唐浩明的《曾国藩》等系列历史小说,具有沉郁厚重的文化意蕴,这是其区别于同时期其它历史小说的一个重要特征。从情节构架、形象选择与塑造、叙事体式及史料处理等方面可以看出唐浩明历史小说文化意蕴的具体表现及其带给创作的影响,它深化了作品的思想意蕴,传达了作者的文化忧思和文化关怀;但对小说美学的深化方面带来了一定程度的遮蔽。它是对过往历史小说文化色彩的承续和发展,也是世纪末社会文化思潮在历史小说创作中的回应。

On cultural connotation in historical novels by Tang Haoming

In the novel Zeng Guofan and a series of historical novels by Tang Haoming, there is profound cultural connotation which distinguishes his writing from other historical works. The cultural connotation is reflected in plot, characterization, narration and the selection of historical data. This deepens the theme of his novels and expresses the author’s cultural thought and care, but at the same time prevents the author’s exploring on aesthetic level. On the whole Tang’s historical novels inherit and develop the cultural characteristics of Chinese historical fictions and also reflect the social and cultural trend of the end of 20th century.
