How to reduce the traffic congestion for Chinese cities

With the rapid development of urbanization and motorization, there are more and more cities facing with the problem of traffic congestion, and how to relief it effectively has become a strategic issue. This paper presents a systematic, in-depth analysis of the reasons why some measures of traffic congestion relief end up with a poor result, and elaborates on the key issues in the process of reducing urban traffic congestion in order to provide a reference for poli- cy makers, practitioners, researchers and the general public to recognize the real situation and to take the right measures.
