Impact of Russia—the Soviet Union on the Industrial Development of Xinjiang in Modern History

Russia - the Soviet Union had close relation with the development of Xinjiang＇s industry in modem history. Russia - the Soviet Union invested in Xinjiang directly, provided experts and technical staff, made plan for industrial development and supplied machines. However, it did a big loss and played a negative role by not strictly abiding by treaties and contracts, grabbing for profits with building factories in Xinjiang, not maintaining equality and mutual benefit during the cooperation with Xinjiang. The double roles in the industrial development of Xinjiang embodied its policy on China and Xinjiang.
