试析中西文论中的空白范畴

中、西文论都提出了"空白"的美学范畴,都认为"空白"是文学艺术的重要特征。但中、西所认知的"空白"又有所不同:中国古代文论中的"空白"本质上是一个哲学问题,而西方当代文论中的"空白"主要是一个技术问题;中国的"空白"理论应用于各种文艺体裁,而西方仅就小说创作而言;中国文艺中的"空白"已内化为审美韵味,永远活跃而常新,而西方的"空白"只是一种省略,会因读者的艺术活动而消除。

Analysis of Vacancy in Chinese and Western Literature Criticism

The aesthetic category of vacancy proposed both in Chinese and in Western literature criticism is considered to be an important feature of literature and arts but recognized differently in Chinese and western literary criticism. In Chinese classical literarature criticism, vacancy is essentially a philosophical question, while it is a technical one in western contemporary literature criticism. Chinese vacancy theory is applied to all kinds of literary styles, but western vacancy is confined to novel writing. Chinese vacancy is internalized aesthetically and active eternally, but western vacancy is only an omission and can be diminished in reader's artistical activity.
