A Study of the Skills and Techniques Qi Luo Figure Painting of the Tang Dynasty

Qi Luo figure painting of the Tang Dynasty is an extremely important school in the process development of the Chinese figure painting, which served as connecting link between the foregoing and the following paintings and had a far reaching influence. This article makes a comparative study of characteristic skills and techniques in such aspects as the design, subject matter, modeling and clothing, colouring, tools and materials for painting, and reveals some changes in the transition from the time of Zhang Xuan to the days of Zhou Fang.
