| Abstract: | The relaxed pronunciation in American spoken English is a tremendous obstacle to English beginners in their learning of English and communication with Americans. Based on examples sorting up and revealing the patterns of the relaxed pronunciation and analysis of its function in communication, this article is intended to help English learners understand the relationships between carefully articulated English and its more informal, relaxed counterpart, learn to recognize the yule of relaxed pronunciation in spoken English and its practical usage, and therefore, acquire a valuable key to successful communication. |
