中西方传统诚信观之解读

在中国传统文化里,诚与信可以互训,但从伦理学的角度,两者在内涵上还是有着细微的差异。“诚”有两个层次的含义,首先从根本意义上说,它是一个本体论的概念,是道德的最高境界;第二个层次的含义是在本体论的指向下修身养性的道德意识。“信”相对于“诚”,更多的是在“诚心”的价值导向下为人处世的具体道德要求。受中国特殊的血缘文化、家族文化的影响,中国传统诚信观表现出自律性、重义轻利的特点;诚信在西方文化中可以追溯到两个源头,一个是基督教文化中的诚信观,另一个是古希腊文化延伸出来的契约伦理。与中国相比,西方诚信观产生起便与法律制度、交易关系紧密联系,更多的表现出一种他律性和经济性。

In Chinese traditional culture,sincerity and faith have the same meaning.But from the angle of ethics,they have subtle differences.Sincerity has two levels of meanings.Firstly,it is an ontological conception and means the highest level of ethics.secondly,it means moral consciousness guided by the ontological conception.Faith refers to specific codes of ethics in conducting oneself.Chinese traditional trust view is characterized by self-discipline,more righteousness and less benefit,affected by Chinese special blood relationship culture and family culture.Western trust was originated from two sources,the trust view of Christianity and the contractual ethics of ancient Greek culture.Compared with chinese trust view,the western trust view is closely related with the law system and trade from the origination.and it is characteried by heteronomy and economical efficienly.
