Chinese striker Ma Xiaoxu was named most-valuable player. It was the eighth time that China's women's national team players hoisted the AFC trophy above their heads. The victory also marked the team's return to its winning ways, after it suffered semi-final and final defeats to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in 2001 and 2003, respectively.
