| 摘 要： | 洋务运动的主旨是引进和学习西方先进的科学技术，达到“疗病起弱”，“御敌自强”，巩固统治的目的。外语人才是引进和学习西方的关键。我国现代意义的外语教育也因此开始。文章从外语学校的建立与语种选择、课程设置等方面考察洋务运动时期的外语教育规划，讨论其得失并寻求历史启示。
