Comparative Study on English and Chinese Apology Strategies in Business Communication

Apology speech,as a speech act,is a part of a language often used in people's daily lives and has different patterns in different cultures.This paper attempts to discuss the similarities and differences of apology strategies used in different business contexts in China and western countries on the basis of principles of pragmatics and inter-cultural communication,and analyzes the causes of this phenomenon,hoping to be helpful in inter-cultural business communication across regions,nationalities or nations.
