Retrospect and Prospect--Promoting the Cause of Gesar to a New Phase of Development

Gesar is an encyclopedic treasure of the world, but its position in old China formed a contrast with the fame and influence of Homer Epic in Greece and Europe at that time. Since the foundation of new China, CPC and the governments paid great attention to this grand epic, assembled much manpower and fund for the rescue collection, sorting up and publishing; and the work is fruitful. The epic itself is the collective crystallization of Tibetan, Mongolian, Tu and Yugu nationalities; is a very important contribution both to Chinese and world civilizations.
