徐复观的心性史观及其价值

从儒家的心性之学出发,徐复观认为人类历史主要有中国和西方两条发展道路,一条特重道德,即人性中仁性的一面;一条特重科学,即人性中知性的一面,双方各有所偏,恰可互补。人类未来发展应是中西两种道路相互借鉴相互融合,中国文化应该借鉴吸收西方文化知性的一面,西方文化则应该学习接纳中国文化仁性的一面,以解决各自发展过程中遇到的问题。

Xu Fuguan's Historical View on Heart-nature Theory and Its Contemporary Value

In the viewpoint of Confucian heart-nature theory,Xu Fuguan considered there were two pathways in the history of human development,i.e.Chinese pathway and western pathway.Thereinto,the former especially emphasized morality i.e.kindness in humanity;the latter especially paid attention to science that was namely intellectual nature in humanity.Both sides have their one-side,which was just to supplement each other.There should be Chinese and western pathways mirrored and syncretized mutually in human future development.Chinese culture ought to draw lessons and assimilate from western culture's intellectual nature,meanwhile,western culture should study and admit kindness in Chinese culture,in order to resolve the problems in their own process of development.
