| Abstract: | Literary texts are also a kind of"discourse"from a linguistic point of view.Howe ver,it is the receiver(reader)who infers the meaning when interpre ting the text.Therefore,such a kind of inference is a typical unilateral infer-ence.This thesis intends to constru ct a reader' s inferential model on the basis of th e cognitive context of literary texts and discusses the theoretical sources of the model as well as its merits. |
