契丹骑兵的界定及分类考

契丹依靠骑兵，雄霸北方草原，与两宋、西夏对峙，建立辽国和西辽国，在历史上存在了近10个世纪。运用文献资料、逻辑分析等研究方法，对契丹骑兵的概念、分类进行考证。骑兵是乘在驯化动物上执行军事任务的陆军。契丹骑兵主要以骑马为主，按照骑兵所承担的任务不同可分为：战骑、拦子马、打草谷骑和驿骑四种，并对其分别进行了考述。
