东亚同文书院始末

考察了东亚同文书院的历史缘起、详细沿革及其客观性质等,指出日本军国主义者从1900年至1945年在中国开办的东亚同文书院,培养了大量的所谓"中国通",通过大旅行等各种手段对中国进行全面的立体式调查,实际上是为日本政府的侵略活动作了前期准备.在侵华战争中,东亚同文书院的学员充当随军翻译、间谍等,为日本军方搜集和提供情报,直接参与侵华活动.因此,虽然东亚同文书院曾经对中日文化交流发挥过一定的作用,但是我们决不应该由此忽视其作为日本侵华帮凶的性质.

On the Nature of East Asia Tongwen Academy

Based on a thorough survey of the origin, evolution and functions of the East Asia Tongwen Academy, the author points ont that the Academy, run by the Japanese military authorities in China from 1900 to 1945 to instruct young Japanese in Chinese history and culture, was among the numerous preparations the Japanese made for their invasion of China. This is evidenced by the fact that, during the Sino-Japanese War, students of the Academy served as translators/interpreters or even spies. The paper concludes that, despite the positive role it played in the Chinese-Japanese cultural exchange, the Academy abetted the Japanese imperialists in their invasion.
