翻译和创作共同促动了汉语的现代化进程,而以翻译为功更高;考察现代中国语言与文学的现代化,必须注意到一个特殊现象--许多人兼作家、翻译家于一身,在文学创作和翻译两个领域辛勤劳作,推进了现代汉语的形成.本文即从这个角度切入对现代文学和现代汉语的研究,揭示出在现代民族国家创建初期,语言和文学的现代化就是由这样一批一身二任的人推动的.他们的功绩值得后人尊敬,他们的教训值得后人借鉴.

A Study of the Phenomenon of Writers and Translators in One Harness in Modern China

Translation and writing both contributed to the modernizing process of Chinese. And translation had played a bigger role. In examining the modernization of modern Chinese language and literature, one special phenomenon should be noticed that many people were both writers and translators working in two fields and contributed to the formation of modern Chinese. This paper researches into modern literature and modern Chinese from this angle and discloses that at the beginning of the building of modern nations, the modernization of language and literature was pushed forward by these writer-translators.
