Neo-realists depict life as it is disinterestedly and objectively. Insisting that life is the source of literary creation and that literary works should faithfully represent real life, they turn their attention to reality and face social problems as they are; they expose social contradictions and attack social evils with realistic spirit and courage. In their works, objectivity and faithfulness to reality with substantial content is highly valued. The neo-realistic fiction, while carrying forward the realistic tradition and embracing some of its new tendencies, seeks to be innovative and therefore, smells of new artistic flavor.
