Abstract: | In this issue we review three websites that deal with the phenomenon of Genocide. www.genocidewatch.org Genocide Watch is the coordinator for the International Campaign to End Genocide, founded in the Hague, Netherlands, May 1999. The website, with parts of it in the Spanish, French and the Portuguese languages as well, contains a large variety of information. There are many articles contained on the website that focus on political and philosophical discussions relating to the causes of genocide and its prevention. Many articles are quite appropriate for classroom use. The site also contains an extensive definition of Genocide and the various stages of Genocide. Both are excellent starting points for discussions with students. Getting students to sign the “pledge against Genocide” contained on the website can be a way to get students more actively involved in this issue. |
