| 摘 要： | 语言的使用无法同文化分开。我们学习英语并用其交际时,不但要学好这种语言的词汇(语义),也要掌握其使用规则(语用)。本文首先探讨了文化与词汇差异的关系,然后讨论了文化与语用差异的联系,最后得出结论:由于文化背景不同,反映到语言上,物体、事物、经历和情感都具有其本民族文化的烙印,而这些正是我们要运用英语进行成功交际必须加以注意的问题。

The Influence of Cultural Backgrounds on the English and Chinese Languages |

| Abstract: | A language is inseparable from its culture. If we want to communicate in English, it's importantfor us to know not only the words (the literal meaning) of that language, but also the rules of using these words(pragmatic rules). This essay deals with the influence that culture has on both English and Chinese. First, ittalks about the differences in words in different cultural background; then it discusses the differences in the use ofwords in different cultural backgrounds. Finally, it draws the conclusion that we must be aware of these differencesto achieve a successful communication. |
