| 摘 要： | 文章力图对象征着奥尼尔艺术高峰的《进入黑夜的漫长旅程》进行道德判断和审美评价。泰伦夫妇酗酒吸毒，是试图逃避现实的消极方式和无奈选择；詹米和艾德蒙这时精神上是孤儿的难兄难弟，是迷惘的一代，也是垮掉的一代。他们的悲剧受生活背后的某种神秘力量所支配，因而带有某种原始的印记。作者同时认为，在这本既是心理剧又是社会剧中，奥尼尔已放弃了其中期创作的诸多表现主义手法，而采用了写实主义和现代主义相结合的方法，在艺术探索方面又达到了一个全新的高度

| Abstract: | his paper attempts to provide moral judgment and aesthetic evaluation to Long Day's Journey Into Night,which is the summit of Eugene O'Neill's work.Tyrone's heavy drinking and Mary's addiction to drugs are theironly way to escape from reality;Jamie and Edmund who are orphans in spirit,are sons of the lost generation.Their tragedy is caused by the invisible and mysterious forces,so it is inevitable and uncontrollable.The authuralso holds that in this psychological and social play,O'Neill has given up many expressionist methods and begunto embrace the realistic and modernist trends to relate the tragedies of his heroes and depict their inner hearts. |
