Study of Liu Xizai's Prose Theory

Liu Xizai's work-An Introduction to Prose in the An Introduction to Art, used the way of exposition and argumentation to expound his prose theory. He paid great attention to the creative, true and natural aspects of prose and was against slavishly following predecessors. He also laid stress on the change of structure and methods. He believed that change creates good prose and people should pay attention to writer's skills and thoughts and vigor in his work and drew an outline of basic principles of prose writing in his argumentation.
