| Abstract: | The application of pragmatic theory to literary analysis and the combination of literary research and pragmatic studies are of great significance to the study of literature and pragmatics.The article,based on the cooperative principle and the speech act theory in linguistics,aims to analyze the discourse communication in Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen,and to demonstrate the feasibility of applying pragmatic theory to literary analysis by exhibiting the outlook on marriage in the novel. |
