近二十年来国内明清士绅研究综述

明清时期士绅最终形成。士绅拥有知识和功名，享有国家赋予的种种特权，代表国家控制基层社会，他们在地方上也担负着多种社会职能，主宰着民众的社会生活，处于官民中介的位置。近二十年来，国内学者对士绅进行了比较全面的研究，主要涉及士绅的内涵、地位以及作用等等。

A Survey of the Studies on the Gentry System in Recent Two Decades

Gentry eventually formed during the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Gentry had knowledge and fame, en- joyed all the privileges given by the state, controlled of grass - roots society on behalf of the state. Meanwhile they shouldered a variety of social duties in the local area, dominated people＇ s social life, and were in intermediarive positions between the officials and public. Over the past twenty years, Chinese scholars have made quite compre- hensive studies on the gentry, mainly on the connotation, status and role of the gentry etc.
