On the Philosophical Thinking of YUN Daiying''s Early Period

This paper elaborates systematically the philosophical thinking of YUN Daiying' searly period. The theory of material realism, proposed by YUN Daiying, convincingly criticized various erroneous philosophical viewpoints in the history, and gave a materialistic interpretation to the basic problems in philosophy. YUN Daiying refuted the agnostic arguments with his own thoughts on materialistic theory of knowledge, and also made brilliant exposition on the conflicts between the atheism and the theism. His contributions constituted a major element in the New Culture Movement, thus propelling the movement from one side and laying the foundation for his future growth into a Marxist.
