On YANG Wan-li's Thought on Changes

YANG Wan-li*ss thought on changes occupies an important place in the Song Dynasty. He regards "Zhou Yi" as the book of adaptation for sages. While he was studying "Zhou Yi", he pondered over the existed social problems and the fate of the South Song Dynasty, trying to make the past to serve the present. Meanwhile,by using the history, he tried to prove that changes are heavenly principles. Of course, his view on changes has a strong coloring of inealist philosophy. Sometimes he cited "Zhou Yi" as footnotes of the Confucian political thought.
