正郭与弹祢——《抱朴子外篇》汉末名士评议

对于两晋士人交相称誉的郭泰、祢衡两位汉末人物 ,葛洪在《抱朴子外篇》中表述了他的不同看法 :郭泰是既怕仕途凶险又不能忍受潜居苦闷的假隐士 ,祢衡则是言行偏至的狂悖之人。他们在人格上属于同一类型 ,都是以外表眩世而心希荣利的人物 ,魏晋以来任情唯欲的士风皆为郭、祢之辈的流风遗韵。葛洪对汉末名士的评价一方面基于他对东汉历史的独特认识 ,另一方面则是借评骘汉末名士以重铸士人气节 ,表达他的理想人格

Appraisement of Guo Tai and Mi Heng in Outer Chapter of Baopuzi

Guo Tai and Mi Heng, two personages in the Later Han Dynasty, were venerated by the esquires in the Jin Dynasty.But Ge Hong stated his different views in Outer Chapter of Bao Pu Zi. In Ge Hong's opinion, Guo Tai was a fake hermit who was afraid of the risk of official career, and he could not stand loneness as a real hermit. Mi Heng was an extreme person according to his words and deeds.They both belonged to the same type on personality. They tried to keep up an appearance of world-weariness, but they both hoped for the high honor and great wealth in their heart. Inherited from them, the esquires in the Wei and Jin Era continued to live at their pleasure. Ge Hong's appraisement of those esquires based on his special thoughts of the history of the Later Han Dynasty. On the other hand, recurring to appraise the esquires in the final time of the Later Han Dynasty, he wanted to reform the character and moral of the esquires and to express the ideal personality of his own.
