| Abstract: | This paper attempts to re-explain of the philosophical inheritance of language structure between Saussure and Halliday from the perspective of "metaredundancy".Based on Saussure's social-semiological metatheory,there is a metaredundant relationship between signifier and signified comprising the whole sign.Then this paper explores how Halliday's language structure theory is inherited from Saussure's from the perspective of "metaredundancy".Finally this paper draws a conclusion that there is a high degree of the theoretical inheritance between Saussure and Halliday. |
