试评宋孝宗的统治

宋孝宗是南宋比较有作为的一个皇帝。在其统治前期和中期 ,面对内忧外患的严峻形势 ,他大刀阔斧地采取了一系列有力措施 ,促进了社会的稳定和经济的发展 ,开创了南宋历史上的鼎盛局面。但同时也应看到 ,孝宗的统治业绩又是很有限的 ,不仅在革除弊政、选才用人等方面存在着诸多不足 ,而且宋室南渡以来国弱民贫的状况未得到根本性的改变。尤其是到了统治后期 ,孝宗明显趋于保守和消沉。

A Comment on the Reign of Emperor Xiaozong of the Song Dynasty

Comparatively speaking, Emperor Xiaozong was a successful emperor in the Southern Song Dynasty. During his early and mid periods, a series of successful policies were carried on. This led to the stability of the society and the development of the economy, and made his reign the top of the Song dynasty. But Emperor Xiaozong had some problems on making a good use of human resources, especially during his later time, conservative and despondent trends could be seen obviously.
