论明清之际士人群体对西方科技的态度及历史影响

明清之际处于社会转换中的中国知识群体，虽然对传入的西方科技抱有某种包容心态，但由于民族文化中心主义对西学的惰性同化作用,以及知识群体对待事物的功利性的政治与道德趋向,他们把西方科技仅仅定位在对儒学价值观的操作性手段的补充意义上,无法体认和借鉴吸收西方科技背后深刻的文明内涵,致使中国社会错失了一次文化与社会转型的历史机遇。

Discussions on the attitude of Chinese intelucturals on Western science and technology during the period which Ming Dynasty was changing into Qing Dynasty and it's historical influence

During the period of the social transformations when Ming Dynasty was changing into the Qing Dynasty,Chinese intellectualswere somewhat tolerant of the immigrated Western science and technology, however ,as a result of national cultural centralizationism'sinert assimilation of Western learning ,and the political and moral trend of utilitarianism,they narrowly positioned Western science inthe supplement meaning of Confucianism and could not realize or make use of the profound connotations of civilization beyond Westernscience and technology,and consequently, made China miss an opportunity to transform history with culture and society.
