Surpassing Wholism and Individualism Methodology:Pierre Bourdieu's Relationalism Methodology

In the field of sociology methodology, there is a dualism between wholism methodology and individualism methodology. In this article, the author analyzes these two methodologies advanced by Emile Durkheim and Max Weber, and pointed out their immanent limitation. Pierre Bourdieu tried to surpass their opposition, and put forward a kind ofintegrative relationalism methodology. This relationship- oriented method regards field as its research object and basic analysis unit, so it can surpass a series of duality opposition in the field of sociology caused by these tworesearch methods oriented towards social or individual existence.
