| Abstract: | Onomatopoeia creates hundreds of thousands of English words. We should notice that it is a vital means of word formation. If it is used properly, it is of colorfully pragmatic function, and it also makes English language vivid, as if a person hears the sound with his own ears, and is on the scene personally. Simultaneously, it offers rhetorical function. |
