历史估定价值--沈雁冰《小说月报》与施蛰存《现代》的比较评析(续)

两位年轻而伟大的编辑，都成功地使他们的刊物得到读者的肯定与喜爱，并基本上主宰了当时的文坛。这成功除了他们的雄心朝气与才识博学之外，中国现代文学发展的客观环境也是重要的原因。但也正是这客观的环境却使得他们在编辑刊物时留下了许多的困惑和遗憾。

The Value Identified by History

Novel Monthly edited by Shen Yanbing and Modern Times edited by Shi Zhecun show the ambition and perseverance of young people in introducing western literature with distinctive emphases. Faced with the whirling currents and dangerous shoals in the course of literature development, they both had to involve themselves into various literary or non-literary debates, bringing them some unwanted regret and bewilderment. By comparison and on reflection, we find it necessary to create a better environment for today's literary publications for healthy development of China's literature.
