福音与医疗:从山西仁术医院看教会医院与地方社会

美国公理会来太谷传教后,鉴于民众缺医少药局面,开始行医布道,并于1905年正式创办仁术医院,直至1951年才告结束。作为教会医院,仁术医院医疗设备先进,水平高超,逐渐赢得民众信任与地方社会支持。同时,医院开办了戒烟所与护士学校,并在医院中开展布道活动,带有浓厚的宗教色彩。医院还积极参与当地的公共卫生事业,组织医生进行防疫工作,宣传卫生知识。不可否认,仁术医院虽然带有传播宗教的功利动机,但在一定程度上促进了山西医疗事业的现代化,也减轻了民众的身体痛苦。

The Gospel and the Medicine: Analysis of Mission Hospitals in Local Society Focusing on Taiku Hospital in Shanxi

When the Shanxi Mission of the American Board Commissioners for Foreign Missions opened the Taiku as a station,evangelistic work and medical work were parallel and the Taiku Hospital was founded in 1905.Taiku Hospital had advanced medical supplies,so it won the confidence and support of the people and local government.However,as a mission hospital,there was a lot of evangelistic work in the Taiku Hospital.In addition,it also opened many opium refugees and a school of nurse.Meanwhile,it initiated the public health,organized its doctors to prevent the plagues and spread the word about hygiene.It is undeniable that although the Taiku Hospital had the purpose of preaching the Gospel,it cured many patients' bodies and promoted the medical modernization of Taiku County.
