| Abstract: | This article explores the causes of Guo Moruo' s distressed life in the period of May 4th Movement from two aspects. One is that he had little ability of living by himself as he was deeply influenced by the traditional belief in ancient China, i.e." An official should take the nation's destiny as his own responsibility" . The other is that he ignored the fact that financial condition is the comerstone of the palace of love while he was in love and cohabited with Anna. |
