毕仲游生平述论

毕仲游生活于北宋中后期,历仕神宗、哲宗、徽宗三朝。他精明强干,为官颇有政绩,受到当时士大夫的称赞,然而由于他在政治上属于反变法派,使得他陷入党争的漩涡,对他的仕途带来了不利的影响,最终也未能位居显要。在复杂的朝廷政治斗争中,他同当时大多数的士大夫一样,最终无法掌握自己的命运。

A Review of Bi Zhongyou's Life

Bi Zhongyou lived in the middle and later half of the North Song Dynasty and held an official position in the courts of Shenzong,Zhezong and Huizong.Intelligent and capable,he made many achievements in his official career and was praised by the scholar-bureaucrats of the time.However,he fell into the mud pit of factious struggles because of his anti-reform view.This impacted badly his official career,which might be the reason why he did not secure a higher position in the end.Just like most of the contemporary scholar-bureaucrats,Bi could not control his own destiny in the complex political struggles of the court.
