The Particularity,Influence and Causes of the Imbalanced Socio-Economic Development in Xinjiang

The imbalance of socio-economic development between Xinjiang and inlandr China, particularly the advanced areas, is easily taken to be the differences between Xinjiang people and inland Chinese people. The similar imbalance between the northern and southern Xinjiang is also easily taken to be the differences between Han Chinese and ethnic minorities. These differences will undermine the confidence and determination in building up a harmonious Xinjiang, the common understanding of all nationalities in national unity and common development, and the cohesion within Xinjiang. Therefore it is necessary to eradicate the root that breeds imbalances.
