汉英致歉策略在社会距离中的分布

从社会距离角度出发,通过“语篇补全测试”,研究汉英文化中致歉策略在动态的社会距离中的分布。结果发现:汉语致歉行为对社会距离的感知度比英语致歉行为的感知度高;汉语在解释、直接道歉、补偿和求罚等4个策略上,明显地受社会距离感知动态的影响,而英语只是在解释这个策略上体现出影响。这种差异反映了汉语文化“关系取向”以及英语文化“个人取向”的深层社会结构。

The Distribution of Chinese and English Apologetic Politeness Strategies in Social Distance

From the point of view of dynamic social distance,the researcher collects data of speech act of apology through discourse completion test(DCT),and finds out that Chinese apologies are more sensitive to social distance than English ones.Distinct differences are found in four Chinese apologetic politeness strategies,i.e.,explanation,direct apology,offer of repair and punishment while difference is only found in one English apologetic politeness strategy,i.e.,explanation.This sharp discrepancy embodies the "relational orientation" of Chinese social structure and the "individual orientation" in English social structure.
