On Two Aspects of Kracauer's Film Theory

Kracauer' s theory, that the nature of film is to record and reveal the material reality, and that film production should pursue modeling in realistic recording, has been of great concern and dispute in academic circles. What Kracauer advocates is the very theory of realistic films. Where he went far beyond lies where he is always trying to cover and judge all films with aesthetic features of realistic films. But as we look into his arguments on realistic films, we see that this theory of his is creative and profound.
