| Abstract: | This thesis perceives Mao Dun, a great writer of the new-vernacular literature in China, from a realistic morphological perspective, and probes into the unique value of the "society-criticizing" realistic literature. It explains, in terms of both literary theory and practice, the significance of Mao Dun as a representative figure of such a literary form, thereby establishing his incontestable position of prestige in literary history. |
