The Status and Consummation of Individual Account of Social Medical Insurance

Individual account plays a crucial role in the reform of social medical insurance in China,and satisfying the people's demand on the health insurance. The paper discusses the status and the problems of the individual account of medical insurance,based on the analysis of the function under the present medical insurance patterns. It also discusses if the cost controller and longitudinal accumulation can be carried out,under the present running pattern and management institutions. The paper argues that,the accumulation of individual account can be carried out,which will play more important roles,only if stressing the responsibility of individual to his health in the future,understanding the policy function,and constituting the reasonable management policies.
