罗斯福总统与美国二战期间对香港政策的演变

在美国参加第二次世界大战后 ,罗斯福总统出于战争和战后全球战略的考虑 ,提出“使中国成为大国的政策” ,以促使中国全力进行战争和战后协助维护美国在远东地区的利益和地位。为此 ,罗斯福总统逐步形成支持战后香港主权归还中国的政策 ,并为实现这一政策在战争的各阶段在多层次与中国和英国进行多次外交努力。对此 ,中国的蒋介石政府曾寄予巨大希望。由于英国坚持维护自己的殖民主义利益 ,加上罗斯福总统战争结束前夕的逝世 ,尤其是由于美苏对抗的国际格局的出现 ,美国政府自己改变了这一政策 ,致使战争结束时英国重新占据香港

Changes of American policy to Hong Kong in the Second World War

After American entered the Second World War, in view of the war and global strategy of post war, President Roosevelt advanced the policy of "Make China a great nation", in order to safeguard American postwar interests in the Far East. So that, President Roosevelt step by step formed the policy that it supported China regaining Hong Kong sovereignty, and made great diplomatic efforts. Therefore, Chiang Kai-shek placed his hope on this American policy for a time. However, because of strong opposition of Great Britain, President Roosevelt's death in the eve of the end of war, and the international pattern of the confrontation between the United States and Russia, the United States abandoned the policy. Great Britain reoccupied Hong Kang in result.
