| Abstract: | The existential sentence, being a special kind of sentence pattern, finds a wide use in both English and Chinese. Based on the similarities, this paper makes a comparison between and analysis of the existential sentences used in English and those in Chinese in the aspects of their respective grammatical structures and semantic features of themes. |
