| Abstract: | Metaphor is not only a kind of rhetoric,it still widely influences the language and thought.This paper tries to investigate the present state of non-English majors' metaphoric competence,reveals the association between the students' metaphoric competence and their English proficiency.Finally,the author puts forward the proposals to foster and improve the students' metaphoric competence. |
