Rawls' Political Changing Direction

This paper investigates why Rawls thinks that the fact of reasonable pluralism will deconstruct the Kantian interpretation of justice as fairness, in order to explain the inner motivation that drove Rawls from comprehen-sive liberalism to political liberalism. On this basis, the paper describes the special perspective of inter-subjectivity that owes to Rawls's later philosophy, and, through clarifying the public sphere attached to the citizenship, explains why Rawls has to give priority to the reasonableness of inter-subjectivity over the ultimate truth about Subject or the Being.
