龚孝拱引导英军焚掠圆明园考论

大约在民国初年,社会上开始流传龚自珍之子龚孝拱引导英军劫掠并焚掠圆明园的传言。对此,虽然当时即有学者表示怀疑,但经若干笔记、野史的传播,特别是一些小说的文学渲染,传言似乎已成铁定事实。笔者对各种相关史料分析后认为上述说法不足为信。

Study on Gong Xiaogong Helping the English Army Destroy the Garden of Gardens

In the early Republic of China,it was widely said that Gong Xiao-gong who is the son of Gong Zi-zhen helped the English army rob and destroy the Garden of Gardens.Although some scholars showed their suspect about this saying,it seemed to be real as recorded in some unofficial history,especially as exaggerated by some fictional literature.After analyzing relative history materials,the author draws a conclusion that it is hard to believe that it is Gong Xiao-gong who helped the English army destroy the Garden of Gardens.
