| Abstract: | Ellipsis of some elements in possessive noun phrases is common in both Chinese and English. Based on the classification of this phenomenon, this paper makes effort to clarify the causes of these ellipses and the causes of their similarities and differences in Chinese and English possessive noun phrases as well. |
